The New Life In Christ

Galatians 5:1 NKJV “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

The final outcome of the sacrifice of the Lord, Jesus Christ, was to free you from the penalty and power of sin. His sacrifice set you free from sin, laws, and regulations, and gave you a new life of freedom. But He did not free you to do whatever you want because that will lead you back to becoming slave to sin (Galatians 5:1). You are dead to sin and alive unto God. God wants you to live your new life in Christ through knowledge: that you have a new identification with Jesus Christ; that you have liberation through Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ died on the cross over 2000 years ago, something incredible happened. Your old sin nature was crucified with Him. Your body of sin has been rendered inactive (Romans 6:6). Therefore, when the old sin nature screams: “take that smoke, drink that alcohol, toy with that fantasy, lose your temper, gossip, hate, get back at people who offended you”, remember that although he can yell, he is powerless to act, since the Cross has paralyzed him. I am so thrilled that we are free from the penalty and the power of sin. Let us embrace this freedom and live the abundant righteous life we have in Christ Jesus.
