Victory Royal Church Newsletter

This is the 3rd quarter edition of our newsletter. We thank you for your continued support, encouragement and kind recommendations, in this, our shared journey of “PREACHING THE GOSPEL & PREPARING THE PEOPLE.”

This issue will spotlight; our “Youth Sunday”, the “Southwest Believers Convention”, our “Annual Evangelism Outreach & Picnic” and our “Women of Influence Convention.”

Focus On God

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 NIV “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

There is a sizeable number of people who are convinced they are too evil for God to help, or they have problems that are too big for God to handle. They seem to have more faith in their inability than they do in God’s ability. They seem to have more faith in the problem than they do in God.

This happens when we focus on the problem, instead of looking to God who is the solution. As long as we focus on the problem and let it consume our attention, we will have faith in it to defeat us. We will forget “the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4 NIV). We have a choice on what we focus our attention on, in times of crisis. So, no matter how urgent the problem biting at your heels may seem, God’s answer for you is to look up and focus on His provision. God is bigger than any problem you face and can deliver you from any situation, no matter how bad it is.

The devil tries to get us to focus on ourselves and our shortcomings, instead of focusing on Jesus and His ability to carry us through to victory. Whenever the focus is pointing to us, instead of pointing to God, you can be assured the devil has some involvement in those thoughts. You have to make the choice to focus your attention on God instead of on yourself and your problems. Instead of thinking of how evil you are, focus on how good God is. His goodness is more than enough to overcome your evil. Instead of looking at what you lack, look at all God has. And remember He is your Father and He loves you. Have faith in God!

Youth Sunday – held on July 31, this is reportedly the best Youth Sunday so far. It involved great teamwork and the kids delivered by showcasing skills honed during their recently concluded Kids Music Training class on Saturdays.

The kids led Worship, singing, played the drums and keyboard. All the teachers ministered briefly by sharing a word for 5 minutes after which Pastor Joan provided oversight, concluding that segment.

Southwest Believers Convention – From Aug 1-5, 15 kids and 6 teachers attended the annual free Southwest Believers Convention held at the Fort Worth Convention center. The kids sessions were separate from the adults, and both were spiritually enriching.

VRC covered the cost for the T-shirts, transportation, food and the Air B & B in Crowley where the team stayed. Parents were asked to make a small donation as a form of commitment to the trip. A wonderful time was had by all and it was also a time of bonding. The kids enjoyed the experience, food and fun.

Annual Evangelism Outreach and Picnic – this annual event, hosted on August 13, at the Jennifer McFalls Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, was another opportunity for VRC to fulfill its mandate of preaching the gospel and preparing the people.

Evangelism team members went into neighbouring communities to distribute items and tracts, as well as pray for persons and share the good news of Salvation with them.

Women of Influence Convention – the Bible states that “iron sharpens iron.” This is the aim of this convention which was held from Sept 2-Sept 4. Three anointed women; Pastors Annette Duke, Deborah Ilesanmi and Rane Tomlinson, ministered to the attendees and shared their story to motivate and empower everyone. This year’s theme was “Divine Influence, “ Proverbs18:16.

Upcoming in our December issue – Coverage of VRC’s Forward Convention-2022 scheduled for Thursday November 3 to Sunday November 6. All are invited.

VRC Quarterly Newsletter

Welcome to the 2nd quarter edition of our newsletter, there is much to share in our continued journey of “PREACHING THE GOSPEL & PREPARING THE PEOPLE.”

Our newly introduced “Evangelism Training”, our “Kids Music Training Program,” our “Diversity Day” celebrations, our fresh batch of graduates and the upcoming “70 Years Birthday Commemoration” for our beloved Pastor Bayo, are among our features in this 2nd quarter edition of our newsletter.

Hold On To Your Faith

HEBREWS 10:23 ” Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

Sometimes it may seem like there is no hope and no help. Like you have no more strength or ability to go on. You feel you are at the end of yourself and just cannot not see a way out of the situation any more. Do not worry. Just hold on to your faith in God.

God is faithful. He will not forsake you. He has not forgotten you. Devil wants you to believe that God has forgotten you, but it is a lie. It may seem dark and hopeless but be assured that God is working behind the scenes. Things will work out fine. God has a good plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11). Never give up.

Every trial you face in life is a trial of your faith in God. Trials are not fun, but we should not be surprised when we find our faith being tried (James 1:2-4). The devil will do his best to deflate your faith in God, but his best will never be good enough. The God in you is greater than the devil (1 John 4:4). Hold on to your faith! Remember that God is for you. God is on your side. God will help you and see you through the trials you are facing. Just keep praising and thanking God, especially when you do not feel like it.

Get busy for God. Do not give up. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).Hold fast to your faith in God.!

When was the last time you shared the good news about Jesus with someone? Every believer is commanded to be an evangelist as underscored in The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19).

Since May 1, 2022, VRC has started an in-house Evangelism training course led by Brother Randall Thompson on Sunday mornings before service. It is a Bible study and a daily devotional which seeks to transform team member’s perspective of Jesus and teach them how to become more mature and spiritually led.

VRC is making a worthwhile long term investment in its Youth and Children’s Ministries. Since March of this year the church has offered FREE ongoing music training to interested children. This is to empower them with a musical skill as well as position them to eventually be a part of the in-house Praise & Worship team.

VRC is a multiracial church which welcomes everyone. Each year, a Sunday in April is celebrated as Diversity Day or International Day, with the spotlight on the potpourri of cultures represented in the church. Representatives of the various nations usually give a short overview of their countries, and showcase their cuisine, attire or song and dance.
